Who we are.
Who we are.
At Crossroads of Michigan, our purpose is simple, yet powerful: to love, and then go where love demands. Since 1971, we’ve stood alongside individuals and families in distress—not just offering services, but offering ourselves. We meet people where they are, with compassion, dignity, and a deep commitment to human connection.
We believe meaningful support starts not with solving problems, but with truly seeing people. Our clients aren’t cases or causes—they’re our neighbors, our fellow humans. That’s why we begin with being present: listening deeply, caring unconditionally, and responding without judgment or agenda. Whether someone needs food, clothing, ID, transportation, or simply a place to be heard, we lead with empathy and let love shape the path forward.
Crossroads is powered by the dedication of volunteers and supporters from all walks of life who bring their time, care, and humanity to our shared mission. Together, we work not just to do for others, but to be for others. Because at the heart of everything we do is one truth: we may not always be able to cure—but we can always care.
“Love, and then go where love demands.”
What we do.
People first, always. Crossroads is a people-centered organization where every individual is met with dignity, compassion, and care- regardless of background, circumstance, or belief.
Presence over prescription. Crossroads offers more than services. We offer ourselves. We listen, we show up, and we stand with people in their pain, because authentic care can't be rushed or reduced to a checklist.
Equity without judgment. Crossroads provides care free of bias, opinion, or condition. We don't evaluate people sociologically, economically, or psychologically. We meet them as equals in a shared human experience.
Rooted in advocacy, grown from love. Inspired by a single act of solidarity in a moment of injustice, Crossroads was founded to be a place where no one faces the system alone, and where love, not status, determines who gets support.

How we think.
On Ourselves
We see ourselves as facilitators of love. Between those who have it to share, and those who need it. That’s our success.
On Purpose
Contrary to popular belief, loving others authentically has a high price. It requires you to find the best of yourself and be confident your value to others is worth sharing. Find it, and you find purpose.
